Kanye West has garnered himself some pretty chaotic headlines over the past few weeks (like having Marilyn Manson on stage), but finally we’ve received some news that excites us. In documents obtained by Page Sixthe rapper’s company Mascotte Holdings Inc. has filed to trademark the name “Kanye West” for a line of home décor products.

The official application was filed on August 27 and covers products such as blankets, shower curtains, pillowcases, towels and textile wall hangings. If his former family home with Kim Kardashian is anything to go by, we can expect minimalist styles with brutalist design sensibilities.

It comes after the designer filed to change his name simply to “Ye” last month.

His estranged wife also filed trademark paper work in September 2020 for her own décor line dubbed ‘KKW Home’. The application covered the likes of bath and shower products, bedroom and home furnishings, throws, comforters, bed blankets and a variety of fragrances including candles, reed diffusers and scented oils.

Thus far she has only released personal fragrance, shape wear, loungewear and makeup.

Kardashian has revealed that she won’t drop West’s last name amid their divorce despite moving to rebrand KKW Beauty. And in fact, the pair will continue working together on their entrepreneurial endeavours.

“Kim is still Kim Kardashian West and has not changed her legal name,” a source for WWD said. “The rebrand has been in the works for some time. Kanye actually helped Kim come up with the new name and the packaging.

They added, “Innovative formulas and even the shopping experience of being able to shop all categories in beauty and cosmetics under one brand, one website has always been Kim’s vision from the beginning. She is incredibly excited about this next phase.”

We’re eager to find out what’s next. Stay tuned.
