On one hand, Timothée Chalamet is a vision of impeccable suiting. On the other, he turns the concept of sartorial dressing on its head with new-age style cues and uncharted design waters. And somehow, it works every damn time.

Early last month, the 23-year-old hit the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of The King – one of the first times since his streak during awards season – donned in a silver Haider Ackermann suit and boots. So when he arrived at the UK premiere overnight, he turned heads while I viewed the look from my computer screen – simultaneously with a slow clap.

Paired with a pair of relaxed chinos, the cuffs tucked into polished combat boots, the Beautiful Boy actor wore a black hoodie, adorned with thousands of sparkling sequins, courtesy of Virgil Abloh’s Louis Vuitton Men’s atelier. According to reports, it was embroidered with more than 3,000 Swarovski crystals and 15,000 sequins and took more than 30 hours to make.

In an interview with VMan, the actor revealed he doesn’t want or uses a stylist and prefers to wear designers he loves. “[Being involved] with fashion has been really fun, just as a fan,” Chalamet told Ocean in the Q+A. “I don’t want to work with a stylist or anything. I’ve been following designers like Raf, Haider Ackermann, Hedi Slimane—these guys are like rock stars. They’re artists.”

We can’t have the custom hoodie but we can draw inspiration from his boots. Shop below.
