Gucci is showing its first standalone men’s show in three years.

For the first time in three years Gucci is hosting a standalone menswear runway, kicking of Milan Men’s Fashion tonight at 2pm CET (Saturday, January 14 12am AEDT).

This marks the first collection to come from the Italian house without the influence of former Creative Director Michele. Whether they carry over elements of his signature geek chic glamour remains to be seen but the messaging at the time.

In recent years, we have become used to a certain aesthetic from the Gucci – excess in the most delicious manner, cerebral yet naive that played with gender and the notions of the beautiful within the garish. This was what Michele excelled at.

Perhaps this is a chance to, as we have seen slowly occurring in real time, the rediscover the sensual that Gucci was once the byname for. Before Michele and Frida Giannini there was the Tom Ford era, whose archival pieces are now becoming even more in demand as we seek to reconnect with a time of decadence in fashion.

Find out tonight when we watch the Gucci Fall Winter 2023 Men’s collection live.
