Surrealism and horror combine in Nicholas Cage’s upcoming film, Mandy. Featuring disturbing yet brilliant graphics, Cage is taken from a peaceful state to a bewildered and psychotic rage, in what could be his best performance to date.

Cage playing ‘Red Hill’ and Andrea Riseborough as ‘Mandy Bloom’, the couple act out a loving couple who are torn apart by an evil cult. The trailer depicts the fight that Hill must face in a crazed effort to rescue his wife from “crazy evil”. The synopsis? “Pacific Northwest. 1983 AD. Outsiders Red Miller and Mandy Bloom lead a loving and peaceful existence. When their pine-scented haven is savagely destroyed by a cult led by the sadistic Jeremiah Sand, Red is catapulted into a phantasmagoric journey filled with bloody vengeance and laced with fire.”

Premiering in cinemas on September 14, the latest horror film will also star Ned Dennehy, Olwen Fouéré, Richard Brake and Bill Duke, directed by Beyond the Black Rainbow’s Panos Cosmatos. Take a look at the first trailer below (earphones required).
