Besides getting out of lockdown, a new teaser preview of Netflix hit Stranger Things Season 4 is the most exciting thing to happen this year. Wow. We just wrote that.

You know what? No shame though. Stranger Things was and always will be a banger and even when it had its bad moments (Eleven’s segue to New York that kind of did nothing went nowhere and looked like a bad music video) it was still pretty good.

Season 4, which is slated to hit Netflix mid-2022, takes us to California where Eleven – now informally adopted by Joyce (Winona Ryder) and the Byers boys with Will and Jonathan – is trying to survive being a normal teenager in 1986 facing the hell that is high school.

In a voiceover letter to Mike, Eleven declares that the coming spring break will be the best ever. Aaaand right on cue everything turns to sh*t.

Guns, explosions, soldiers, something underground, Eleven being held prisoner, perms and roller-rinks – if it’s a bad thing, it’s apparently happening.

This week Netflix teased the titles of each chapter giving us a hint of what’s to come: The Hellfire Club, Vecna’s Curse, The Monster and The Superhero, Dear Billy, The Nina Project, The Dive, The Massacre At Hawkins Lab, Papa, and The Piggyback.

At what point everyone’s favourite local sheriff and off-duty fashion daddy aka Jim Hopper aka David Harbour comes back is anyone’s guess – Papa feels too obvious. The last time we saw Hopper he had been caught by the Russians after their lab below Hawkins had exploded.

As to whether Eleven’s powers have returned or if the Shadow Monster/Mind Flayer is still plotting to take over the town, these have yet to be revealed.

But earlier teasers have already confirmed that something from the Other Side is still manipulating the good folks of Hawkins with a nice little Amityville Horror-esque haunting about to come our way.

Be right back, just binge watching the first three seasons in anticipation.
