While it’s starting to heat up on the other side of the globe, the cool weather of Autumn is setting in Down Under but nevertheless the Swedish fashion house is creating threads relevant for all months of the year. Launching its Spring/Summer 2019 denim collection, the ’90s is well and truly here and giving us a lesson in layering, old-school denim and well, great styling, Acne Studios is providing the goods.
In a cohesive collection that looks back to its humble beginnings in 1996, Acne has also referenced ’90s American archetypes and workwear. Reworking Acne classics and giving standard silhouettes an up-cycled look, the denim line is a quintessential throwback with modern streetwear styling. Along with kit essentials in the form of high-waisted jeans, bomber style jackets and multi-use basics, the collection brings in a sportswear feel. With sweatpants and hoodies layered underneath and on top of key looks as well as the infusion of colour blocking, its casual ethos makes for an approachable collection, while bucket hats, sneakers and side bags round out the collection.
