Part of the Fall18 collection, Balenciaga fronts the T-shirt Shirt, and as expected the internet has expressed its confusion. From twitter users to internationally recognised publications, the Spanish fashion house has caused a stir in the fashion community.

According the luxury brand, the piece has “two wearing options” with a draped effect on the front or back of the piece and can be worn as a t-shirt or button-down. Known for creating bizarre pieces in the past – think platform crocs and the IKEA inspired carry-all – the brand is once again pushing the boundaries in fashion and design.

Retailing for £935, several media publications have also made expressed their opinions. Titled “Holy shirt”, The Guardian deemed the luxury offering “ridiculous”, while The Independent agreed, calling the item “nonsense”, even Time comparing it to a human clothes hanger. Users on twitter had a go, with one account going as far as to recreate his own.
