Outside the runway, it was a mixed bag of trends. Cop your inspiration here...
Kicking off the fashion month circuit, the past week has seen the island of Manhattan in a blaze of production-heavy runway presentations and fashion crowds of mass proportions for New York Fashion Week. While the runway is closed to the general public, outside the shows onlookers often mingle among buyers, influencers, editors in a bid to be papped by photographers. What multitudes is a mixed bag of trends and avant garde styles – some are hit, some miss – but nevertheless, the inspiration is endless.
Outside hotly-anticipated shows such as Coach, Philip Lim and Rag & Bone, guests enjoyed cooler conditions after a sweltering summer and opted for slightly heavier attire. For Lukas Sabbat it meant wearing head-to-toe leather, while others opted for more breathable styles including tailored pants, cuban-style shirts and utilitarian accessories. Chunky sneakers were swapped out for boots and classic styles of court shoes, while the rest of the look did the talking.
