Towering over the Huairou District outside of Beijing, the Great Wall of China is awash in a shade of Bottega Veneta green and tangerine (a symbol of luck in Mandarin) this week to celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year and the Year of the Tiger in 2022. The Italian house released a series of stunning images to virtually transport people all around the world with birds-eye views of the historical monument.

One sweeping section of the wall reads ‘BOTTEGA VENETA’ via a digital screen while another slide reads, ‘新春快乐’ which translated to English means, “Happy New Year”.

Together, Bottega Veneta has pledged a donation to support the renovation and maintenance of the ‘Shanghai Pass’, the Great Wall of China’s easternmost stronghold, historically known as the ‘First Pass under Heaven’.

To accompany the Chinese New Year celebrations from afar, Bottega Veneta has released a new campaign starring models He Cong and Wang Chenming and photographed by Charlotte Wales. The images boast new season styles alongside a plethora of new product offerings for the season.

Hallmark leather styles of the brand including the Acro Bag, woven Cassette and Cassette Mini will be made available in the same rich hue of tangerine, adding to the already vibrant array of colourways.

In 2021, Bottega Veneta took over the famous Bondi Icebergs in Sydney, Australia for the highly praise Salon 02 collection. Last month the brand also announced it would strip its platforms – advertising spaces, the website, newsletters, shop shelves and windows – to allow local Italian bottegas to sell and promote their own artisanal goods.
