Looking to American Youth as his ongoing muse, the Belgian designer is reworking the CK aesthetic. Taking cues from sporting uniform, preppy styles and oversized silhouettes, Simmons reinvents the image of young adults.
Along with turtleneck sweaters, bomber jackets and sharp blazers, the collection is presented in a bright and bold colour palette, taken from technicolor films, pop art and the architecture of the Googie diners. Key pieces in the collection adorn a range of polka dots, tie-dye, stripes, and a line of accessories has been included featuring shoes, bags and eyewear inspired by sports such as bowling, baseball, basketball and football.
Partnering with University of California, Berkeley and Yale University, CALVINKLEIN205W39NYC has also incorporated its logos onto a range of goods, further displaying its inspiration of young Americans.
