Within the rolling mountains of San José de Maipo, Casa La Roja cuts through the greenery in a vibrant statement of red. Located in Chile, Felipe Assadi Arquitectos have created a homely cabin enveloped by rough terrain.
What it lacks in modest size has been made up in striking colour and interior design. Contrasting the bold facade, the interior takes on a a more muted colour palette with accents of red as well as continual theme of natural stone and timber throughout the home. To break up the colour, black steel frames the house and windows, all while in keeping with the minimalist decor.
With the natural environment in mind, the house features sliding glass doors that expand the ground floor out to a double-height veranda as well as glazed inserts in the ceilings above that floods the rooms with natural light and warmth.
