The 2024 Olympics are right around the corner, and to champion the remarkable women set to compete in Paris this July, Dior has named Australian swimming champion Emma McKeon as one of its official ambassadors for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024.

Debuting at the Rio 2016 Games, McKeon has already proven herself to be an athletic force in the worldwide arena and is currently an eight-time world record holder. Having grown up in a household of competitive swimmers, she shot to global fame with her incredible performance at the Tokyo Games in 2020, where, at the age of 27, the Wollongong native became the most successful Australian Olympian of all time.

With connections to culture that extend far beyond clothing, Dior has always carved space to spotlight the changemakers and luminaries of the sporting world. And as we gear up for this year’s Olympics, the union is forged by a mutual passion for craft.

“[This] virtuoso partnership is a natural reflection of Dior’s fascination with the values of sport, such as discipline, perseverance, and respect, but above all, the desire to stretch, ever further, the limits of intrepid excellence,” said a statement from Dior about McKeon’s appointment.”

In an Instagram post announcing the news, McKeon shared her excitement as she posed on the beach in a white cotton blouse and slicked-back hair.

“Honoured to be a @dior athlete ambassador for the Paris Olympic Games,” she wrote. “I have long been an admirer of Christian Dior, and I couldn’t be more excited to have their support.”

The 30-year-old has been selected alongside 15 other athletes, including surfer Carissa Moore (surfing), Clarisse Agbégnénou (judo), Estelle Mossely (boxing), Louise-Aina Taboulet (skateboarding), and Sara Balzer (fencer).

A series of portraits of the athletes will be on display at Le Café Dior in La Galerie Dior in Paris from July 24 to September 9.
