Genesis has once again proven that you may have it all in a world where performance and luxury are sometimes at odds.
This year in April, at the Seoul Wave Art Center, the brand lifted the veil on its latest masterpieces: the redesigned GV80 and the all-new GV80 Coupe. These models are more than just cars — they’re a statement of Genesis’ commitment to blending tradition with cutting-edge innovation.
For those with a keen eye on the luxury SUV market, the GV80 needs no introduction. Since its debut in January 2020, this flagship SUV has sold over 170,000 units worldwide, making a significant mark in the global market. Now, Genesis has given the GV80 its first major update in over three years, with enhancements that promise to elevate the driving experience to new heights. The redesigned GV80 maintains the sophisticated DNA of its predecessor while introducing a thoroughly modern interior and an array of new features that focus on comfort and safety.

The GV80’s refreshed exterior includes the newly designed Two-Line Crest Grille and sleek headlamps made possible by Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology, embodying Genesis’ ethos of harmonising advanced technology with timeless design. The vehicle’s robust and athletic stance is further highlighted by larger air intakes and a distinctive chrome trim that stretches from front to rear, exuding a powerful presence on the road.
Step inside, and the GV80 doesn’t just impress — it captivates. The cabin is a testament to Genesis’ design philosophy, centred around the Korean concept of the ‘Beauty of White Space’. A new 27-inch-wide OLED display seamlessly integrates the cluster and AVN (Audio, Video, Navigation) systems, while the crystal-like Shift By Wire (SBW) gear selector adds a touch of luxury to the driving experience. Every detail, from the Nappa leather upholstery to the redesigned wireless smartphone charging tray, has been crafted to enhance comfort and convenience.

But it’s the GV80 Coupe that truly steals the spotlight. After months of anticipation following the reveal of the GV80 Coupe Concept, Genesis delivers with a vehicle that embodies the brand’s design philosophy of “Athletic Elegance”. This new coupe seamlessly merges the practicality of an SUV with the sporty aesthetics of a coupe, offering a dynamic driving experience without compromising on luxury. The GV80 Coupe’s 3.5-litre turbocharged engine, paired with a 48V electric supercharger, delivers an impressive 415 horsepower, ensuring that power and performance are always at your command.
Visually, the GV80 Coupe is a bold statement. Its low, sloping roofline and distinctive LED lighting create a silhouette that’s as striking as it is aerodynamic. Inside, the Coupe continues to impress with a sporty yet elegant interior, featuring a two-tone D-cut steering wheel, carbon garnish patterns, and coupe-specific seats that combine comfort with high-performance sensibility.
Omar Al-Zubaidi, CEO of Genesis Motors Middle East and Africa, highlighted the significance of these models for the region: “We are thrilled to announce the launch of our redesigned GV80 and the first coupe SUV, the GV80 Coupe. Coupled with our unwavering dedication to providing exceptional driving experiences, these new releases hold particular significance for our valued customers in the Middle East. The region’s perceptive tastes and appreciation for luxury and performance inspire us to deliver vehicles that not only meet but exceed expectations.”
The new Genesis GV80 and GV80 Coupe are currently available across the Middle East. With their blend of tradition, innovation, and undeniable style, these models are set to redefine luxury driving in the region.
