An eyebrow-gate, an apology and an Instagram follow later, Hailey Bieber and Selena are both over the drama surrounding their alleged “feud”. So why are people so desperate to stir the point by pointing out their similarities?
Yes, they both own lucrative beauty brands—although it’s worth noting Gomez’s Rare Beauty offers makeup while Bieber’s Rhode Beauty exclusively sells skincare—have the letter ‘G’ tattooed in cursive print, and now both host their own respective cooking shows.
But, are we really going back to pitting these two women against each other purely because a few Selenators claim Hailey is “copying” the Only Murders In The Building star?
Is there only room on the internet for one celebrity to host their own pseudo-cooking show?
Because if that’s the case, we’re rooting for Paris Hilton to release a second season of her sliving Cooking With Paris Netflix series because watching the heiress navigate Erewhon in couture is truly what dreams are made of.
If it’s the case that only one celebrity can exclusively commodify their passion into an entertaining streaming show, should someone send around a memo in Hollywood? Because we just know that Brooklyn Beckham is already planning more content for his Cooking With Brooklyn show.
The discourse started when Bieber announced her latest project—a weekly cooking show hosted on her YouTube channel titled, ‘What’s In My Kitchen’.

It’s a spin-off from her existing YouTube series, ‘Who’s In My Kitchen’, which sees the Saint Laurent muse sit down with her A-lister friends and get up to hijinx, like cook mac and cheese with Kendall Jenner.
“This series is inspired by your response to me making the pizza toast, creamy Tuscan pasta, smoothies, and more,” the 26-year-old wrote on her Instagram Story. “I’m excited to take you all even deeper into my actual home kitchen!”
So far, she’s uploaded videos showing fans how to cook Pão de Queijo, a Portuguese cheesy bread, with her mother and grandmother, and her signature chicken wings recipe.
But, with Gomez also hosting her own cooking show called ‘Selena + Chef’, featuring appearances from (you guessed) chefs like Gordon Ramsey and Jamie Oliver, fans think there could be one too many cooks in the kitchen.
To them we say: if you can’t cop the heat, perhaps it’s best you stay out of it.
