If you look closely at the copious appearances American rock star Lenny Kravitz, the one common denominator seems to be his affinity for a good pair of shades. More recently, the 55-year-old has been donning a large pair of square, thick gold-framed glasses with a brown lens. The pair are so aptly a Kravitz specialty, but it wasn’t until late last week that the true sentiment of the sunglasses were revealed.

After appearing at a rock ‘n’ roll gig at the Shrine in Los Angeles over the weekend, the artist took to his Twitter account to file an unorthodox missing persons report.

“I’m missing this pair of sunglasses after my show in LA at the Shrine this weekend. They are incredibly sentimental to me, they are vintage and they belonged to a family member. Hoping to get them back, no questions asked. Any information please email [email protected],” Kravitz published to his social media, accompanied by two images of the glasses.

The tweet has over 7,000 replies and an account named @KravitzGlasses has also been created as they allegedly go “off on an adventure”. Naturally, some people are not impressed with the seemingly materialistic call out with one user commenting, “We just had hundreds of homes/families flooded here in Kingwood, Texas. Most people lost everything. And sunglasses are your biggest problem ? Sorry Charlie.”

We must admit, they’re some pretty sweet sunglasses. So while we keep an eye out for his glasses, we’re stealing his look.
