Chanel is no stranger to crafting legendarily diverse and outside-of-the- box accessories. Under the leadership of the late Karl Lagerfeld, the fashion house has put its own high-end spin on everything from motorcycle helmets to ice skates to even a quilted megaphone, making this mini cruiser no exception in the long lineage that makes up Chanel’s more whimsical side. Primarily a display piece, the board is crafted from lacquered wood, and has quite a chubby body, with the brand’s double-C logo inlaid into the centre of the griptape. The logo is repeated in the diamond-quilted print on the bottom, referencing the French house’s signature technique and is applied so that the wood’s grain remains visible. White wheels and hardware offer a clean complement to the black trucks.

Part of Chanel’s marque spring/ summer 19 collection, the board is just one example of the meticulous attention Lagerfeld paid to the details of each item he created, and how far the fantasy extends beyond the confines of a runway. This luxe take on the X Games won’t necessarily get you cred at the local skate park, but rip this down Castlereagh, Collins or James Streets and you’ll literally grind the competition.
