We’ve officially called time on winter. As we hesitantly move into the cool season, it is easy to make a move to the standard knitwear and denim combo. Though easy, we’ve found your updated daily uniform and it starts with the classic rugby jumper. Coming to fruition in the preppy ’50s, the college campus look was then adopted by Mick Jagger from the ’60s and since then, the rugby style has no longer been exclusive to the field.
“They’re no longer for the field but to elevate the style I suggest layering,” ICON’s Fashion Director, Kim Payne suggested. “College inspired dressing has never looked so good so add a chino and turtleneck for the full prep effect.”
As always if you choose to layer, follow the golden rule. Start with lightweight layers and choose thicker materials for the outer layers to avoid looking bulky.
And when it comes to choosing a style, the options are endless. Go sporty and rep your favourite team merchandise, gritty street style with an oversized fit or keep it classic with a heritage brand.
