Jaeger-LeCoultre has once again elevated its Polaris collection, blending classic elegance with contemporary style in its latest 2024 releases. The revered Swiss watchmaker introduced the Polaris Geographic, while also refreshing the Polaris Date and Polaris Perpetual Calendar with striking new dial colours.
Reviving a Classic: Polaris’s Evolution
When Jaeger-LeCoultre revived the historic Polaris name in 2018, it redefined the sporty-elegant watch. The collection, inspired by the brand’s iconic 1960s diving watches, struck a balance between robust sports watch functionality and timeless elegance. This unique blend of form and function made the Polaris line a modern classic, ideal for everyday adventures.
Introducing the Polaris Geographic
This year, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the Polaris Geographic, featuring the Maison’s signature Geographic travel time complication. Unlike standard dual-time watches, the Polaris Geographic not only displays a second time zone but also includes a 24-hour Night and Day indicator and a city name aperture for the 24 major time zones. This allows travellers to set the second time zone according to their destination with ease.
The dial, in a new ocean-grey colour, boasts a double gradient finish that adds depth and dynamism. Orange accents highlight key information points, creating a visually engaging contrast. The sapphire crystal case-back reveals the finely finished automatic movement, Calibre 939, which offers a 70-hour power reserve.
New Dial Colours for the Polaris Date and Polaris Perpetual Calendar

The Polaris Date now features a gradient ocean-grey dial, elevating its modern design. First introduced in 2018, this model epitomised sporty elegance, echoing the design of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s classic 1960s diving watches. The 42mm steel case houses the new-generation automatic Calibre 899, with a 70-hour power reserve, visible through the sapphire case-back.
The Polaris Perpetual Calendar, first introduced in 2022, now comes with a luxurious pink gold case and a gradient green dial. This model is a marvel of horological engineering, featuring a perpetual calendar that automatically adjusts for the varying lengths of months and leap years, requiring no manual correction until 2100. The watch’s 42mm pink gold case and interchangeable strap system enhance its versatility, offering both a sporty dark green rubber strap and a more formal black alligator leather option.
Jaeger-LeCoultre’s commitment to craftsmanship is evident in the meticulous construction of the Polaris dials. Each dial undergoes a lengthy lacquering process, involving multiple layers of colour and translucent lacquer to achieve a rich, dynamic finish. The brand’s expertise is also showcased in the automatic movements, entirely designed, produced, finished, and assembled in-house.
Jaeger-LeCoultre’s latest additions to the Polaris collection highlight the brand’s ability to blend tradition with modernity, offering watches that are both elegant and practical. Whether it’s the innovative Polaris Geographic or the refreshed Polaris Date and Perpetual Calendar, these timepieces are set to become indispensable companions for modern adventurers.
