There’s no love quite like the love between two Leos which probably explains the extremely thirsty Father’s Day post Jennifer Lopez just made about husband Ben Affleck. And yes, when the two Leos are celebrities it does tend to take things up a notch.
“Daddy Appreciation Post,” Lopez wrote under the photo. “Happy Father’s Day Papa. And Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing Papas out there!! We love you and appreciate you more than you will ever know.”
The photo that has sent a chunk of the internet into a frenzy is a shirtless Affleck flexing some enviable abs. Dad bod? What dad bod? Other shots in the album show Affleck and Lopez in a montage of shoots and some private shots just looking together and it’s all pretty nice to actually see.
And you know what – good on Lopez for propping her husband up for looking good. The pair are no strangers to showing a little PDA here and there (anyone else remember the infamous yacht moment?) so this is fairly stock standard Bennifer behaviour.
It’s also no secret that Affleck seem to thrive when he is with Lopez. Not only has the 50-year-old got his head back into the game as far as his movie choices are concerned (if you haven’t seen his recent outing Air, go do so) but he’s clearly taking care of his health again.
While some have called out that Lopez’s post for Father’s Day is, admittedly somewhat ironically, lacking pictures of his actual children it feels like they’re also just looking for a reason to sling mud.
It could also have something to do with Affleck’s current reprisal as Batman in The Flash. The cameo marks Affleck’s swan song as the caped crusader within a drama-plagued series that seems to be never-ending. Ticket sales for the latest movie have plummeted and that’s not mentioning the decision to stick with controversial actor Ezra Miller.
Affleck famously said that his experience as Batman within the DC Universe as one of the worst experiences he has ever had. So maybe Lopez is just trying to take his mind of things.
