It’s hard to think that it was a whole decade ago when newly-arrived pop sensation Justin Bieber released his debut single ‘One Time’ – he was only 15 years-old at the time. His fame skyrocketed exponentially and it wasn’t before long that the artist was covered in tats and the subject of tabloid headlines with his on-again, off-again relationship with Selena Gomez. His boppy hits remained as just that, but what was churning underneath was far darker.

Now at 25, Bieber seems to be on his feet again and married to model Hailey Baldwin, the ‘Love Yourself’ singer took the opportunity to get raw and real on Instagram. Getting candid about his time as a young 20 year-old, he revealed his struggles with fame, drug abuse and declining mental health.

Within the lengthy post, Bieber revealed it got to the point “where you don’t want to live anymore.” Despite the riches that came with his overwhelming success, he was still “unfulfilled”. He went onto explain his parents splitting at the age of 18, and growing up quickly with “no skills in the real world, millions of dollars and access to whatever I wanted.” From 19, he revealed how he abused relationships and himself with drugs before going on to thank God for what he has now.

“All this to say even when the odds are against you, keep fighting. Jesus loves you.. BE KIND TODAY> BE BOLD TODAY AND LOVE PEOPLE NOT BY YOUR STANDARDS BUT BY GODS PERFECT UNFAILING LOVE,” Bieber wrote.

The support from the greater industry has been huge with the likes of Miley Cyrus, Sean Kingston and Scooter Braun all expressing their love in the comments section.
