Leave it to Jonathan Anderson to turn a fashion presentation into an odyssey. For Fall/Winter 2025, LOEWE took over the 18th-century Hôtel de Maisons, transforming it into a labyrinth of seventeen themed rooms, each more surreal than the last. A true collision of fashion, art, and memory, the space was filled with nods to past collections—think Anthea Hamilton’s giant pumpkin making a comeback from FW22, ceramic masterpieces by Zizipho Poswa, and Yoshihiro Suda’s delicately intricate Morning Glory. Familiar motifs were reimagined and scattered throughout: massive acrobats from the jewellery line dangled mid-air, an oversized apple (because why not?) loomed in the distance, and mushroom-shaped staddle stones peppered the gardens like something out of a modern fairy tale. It was a showspace designed to disorient, impress, and remind us that at LOEWE, nothing is ever just what it seems.
As for the collection, think of it as a sartorial scrapbook – Anderson’s experimental playground where LOEWE’s signature craftsmanship meets a mind-bending play on scale, structure, and nostalgia. Menswear felt like a puzzle of contradictions: razor-sharp tailoring meets fluid draping, leather gets sliced and reconstructed, and everyday staples—shirts, knits, coats—merge into unexpected hybrids. The influence of the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation was unmistakable, with bold squares and geometric weavings breathing new life into LOEWE’s beloved Puzzle and Flamenco bags. Tiny rings morph into tops, stitches get blown up to oversized proportions, and garments invite you to look inside. LOEWE proves once again that getting dressed is never just about clothing—it’s about stepping into a world where craft and curiosity collide.
