Louis Vuitton is a name even the most fashion-unconscious are aware of. In its history spanning close to two centuries, the House has evolved from its origins of trunk manufacturing, to becoming indispensable in the high fashion scene.
Honouring this history, Louis Vuitton’s exclusive Savoir Rêver event is a high-concept excursion into the label’s heritage of bespoke craftsmanship. Held at Anantara Santorini Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), Savoir Rêver ties in the House’s legacy with the emirate’s commitment to engaging with luxury experiences. The event is accessible through private appointment only, taking place from February 7 to 15.
The event’s theme, L’Âme Du Voyage (“The Spirit of Travel”), invites guests to traverse through the lexicon of the House’s métiers. The travel motif is hard to miss, with several decorative elements such as portholes, trains and airplane cabins that allude to the journey, as well as a hot air balloon centrepiece.
Carefully curated and custom-fitted presentations take guests on a guided tour through different stages of Louis Vuitton’s journey, beginning with an Exhibition Lounge displaying iconic archival pieces, traversing through various modes of transportation, and ending with a look at the Objets Nomades collection, housed aptly in a tent. Louis Vuitton has never been a brand that’s scared to branch out, and the message is clear: their exploration is ongoing.
Savoir Rêver showcases many of the pieces that have defined the Maison’s legacy, including the Capucines and Rarex Homme collections, Tambour watches, and a High Jewellery collection curated by Louis Vuitton and Francesca Amfitheatrof, the House’s Artistic Director of Watches Jewellery.
It’s the kind of history lesson that will never be snooze-inducing, and every turn offers a new look into a story of artisanal craftsmanship.
