Hailing from Sydney, Ghanaian-Australian artist Manu Crooks is tastemaker in all things music and fashion. Crook’s Instagram feed is a brief insight into his cult streetwear obsession. His own music is a curated selection of hits boasting laidback, rap sensibilities which will surely be the sound of Summer.

For the up-and-coming rapper, the turn of seasons has also sparked a fresh collaboration with 1800 Tequila. In turn, the premium spirit brand has emerged for a limited-edition collection where flavour meets fashion. Applying Crook’s laser sharp focus and eye for a good kit essential, he also joins formidable fashion force, Poppy Lissiman, to usher in a three-piece accessories capsule.

A nod to the 1800 Tequila catchphrase, “just refined enough”, wardrobe essentials arrive in the form of a black waist bag with silver chain detailing, bucket hat reading “Mood Forever” and the much-loved 6 panel cap. “I would pair some all black sneakers with the bucket hat, some dope black pants too. Something edgy and clean, a black t-shirt and jacket.”

Incorporating his life moto, “Mood Forever”, Manu says, “Mood Forever is meant to inspire, uplift, and challenge. To me it means reaching way past your potential but also the arduous journey, and the sheer determination to achieve something even when all the odds are stacked against you.”

“My style is indescribable” Manu tells ICON. “The drink though, is something refreshing to have when you first get to a bar, bit of a starter for the night.”
