Nowadays, it seems everyone has a streetwear label and for Fall/Winter 2019, that is set to include National Geographic. Whilst the media giant has explored the ends of the earth, it will move into uncharted territory with its first menswear collection. The organisation has worked with The North Face and Element in the past, however, this marks its first stand alone debut.

On display, National Geographic plays on its own iconic branding and colourways, emblazoning its known sensibilities onto a number of silhouettes. With technical wear in mind, the collection heroes hardwearing puffer jackets, oversized parker jackets as well as kit essentials. Rounding out the line, embroidered jersey hoodies and sunshine yellow knitwear including sweaters, scarves and beanies add everyday appeal.

The fashionable venture was expertly executed through a license deal with German-based apparel company, CoreM. The brand is owned by Hong Kong-based Omnibrand Group and is known for its focus on traceable fair production. With this and in a natural progression, the collaborative partnership has thrust the collection into the sustainability sector of style. The entire collection is made from sustainable materials where possible and includes the cotton in the tees to the stuffing in its down jackets, which is made from recycled PET bottles rather than animal products. In addition, the bright colour blocking has been created through low-impact dying processes.

Spring/Summer 2020 will drop shortly and include the same design cues of its first collection, albeit, with a look at lightweight jackets and summer basics.
