Comedian Pete Davidson often turns to real-life events in his skits for Saturday Night Live, even referencing his new relationship with model Kaia Gerber on a recent episode of the show, joking that no one’s happy when he dates celebrities.

But over the weekend, the 26-year-old raised eyebrows when he alluded to taking some time off to go to what fans assumed was rehab. Davidson, who underwent treatment at a rehabilitation centre in 2016, said that he is “going on ‘vacation'” from the show, but that insurance pays for some of it.

He went on to say, “And they take your phone and shoelaces. And it costs $100,000 but I still have roommates.”

Following the skit, a source close to Gerber’s mum – supermodel Cindy Crawford – told Page Six that it has been “a very stressful and concerning few days.” The outlet, which also had a video of Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber, having what looked to be an argument outside of Kaia’s New York City apartment, went on to say that the 18-year-old and Davidson are going through a “difficult time.”

“Cindy and Rande wanted to be there for Kaia and supportive of her,” the source told the publication. “They are very involved and loving parents and they would do anything for her”

They continued, “They stepped in to try and guide her and to help Pete through a difficult time.”

Davidson and Gerber were first romantically linked in late October 2019. Previously, Davidson was engaged to Ariana Grande, before going on to date Kate Beckinsale and Margaret Qualley.
