Forget what you once knew as a child, because the team at O2 Treehouse is elevating the humble concept in an expert fusion of modern design and traditional craftsmanship. While the standard treehouse is seen in a number of sizes and shapes, there is none more unique than the Pinecone Treehouse.

Drawing inspiration from its namesake title, the dreamy space currently sits in the heart of an Oakland forrest where it is currently available to rent on Airbnb and better yet, is also up for sale.

Constructed in a geodesic dome shape, the exterior is made from steel and California redwood, finished off with several glazed panels that create the scales and folds of the pinecone – however, its true beauty is appreciated from the inside. With access via a steep ladder, the interior provides a kaleidoscope-like effect with its encompassing windows and natural light. Although a small space, the Pinecone Treehouse houses a small bedroom that sleeps two people as well as an outdoor bathroom which is connected with a wooden catwalk.

Providing unobstructed views of the foliage around the structure, it is the perfect space to achieve ultimate zen.
