Prada has taken a bite out of its own history, melting past and present together to create something unexpectedly slick. Enter Chocolate, the brand’s latest men’s loafer, a suitably delicious name for a shoe that blends artisanal heritage with industrial attitude. First sketched into Prada’s universe in the ’90s, the loafer has now been rebuilt through a sharper, more industrial lens. Look down to the shoe’s base and you’ll see where the name Chocolate comes from. The welt circling the shoe’s lower edge is stamped with a bold, rhythmic rotellatura finish, forming a geometric grid that feels straight out of a chocolate bar’s mould.

The silhouette itself goes bigger and bolder, with an architectural upper and hidden elastic that makes slipping them on feel almost… suspiciously easy. Prada even moved its iconic triangle logo from leather goods to the upper, turning it into a subtle badge of belonging. Underfoot, an ultralight rubber sole – lifted from sports tech – keeps things comfortable. And because one flavour is never enough, Chocolate now comes in everything from brushed leather in fresh tonal updates to soft suede, plus animalier and crocodile-embossed finishes for the men who prefer their style with a little bite. In the end, Chocolate lands as Prada’s latest power move: a future classic shaped by heritage, sharpened by innovation, and tempting enough to make you crave a second pair.
