The Puma Suede sneaker turns 50 and in celebration, the streetwear label is teaming up with MCM for a high-profile shoe and apparel collection. After working with FUBU, Hello Kitty and MAC, this is the most anticipated out of the bunch.

Available in three colour ways – white, ‘cognac’ brown and a blue/red/white variation – MCM will lend its classic monograph to the Puma Suede. Created in quality leather and suede accents, the reimagined model will also include a brass-plate on the tongue. The packaging has been taken one step further, constructed using the same monogrammed leather.

Each pair of sneakers also goes hand-in-hand with an apparel capsule consisting of the classic T7 track jack and pants. With style cues taken from the ’70s and ’80s, the collection pays homage to the height of the hip-hop era, where the Suede first became a street icon.

The limited-edition collection will be available from May 24 at MCM and Puma stores as well as selected retailers. The Suede retails for $340 while the track jacket and pants are priced at $300 and $250.
