A new benchmark has been set — and it’s wrapped in carbon fibre.
At Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit, the Range Rover Sport SV delivered a record-breaking performance, clocking a lap time of 2:20.405. The achievement makes it the fastest production SUV and fastest four-door production vehicle to take on the track.
At the centre of the action was Emirati racing driver Saeed Al Mheiri, pushing the SV to its limits under the floodlights. The roar of the 635PS, 4.4-litre twin-turbo mild-hybrid V8 echoed through the circuit as the car launched with precision and held its line through every high-speed turn. With 750Nm of torque and acceleration from 0–100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, the SV made its presence felt instantly.
One of the standout innovations is the 6D Dynamics suspension system. Ditching conventional anti-roll bars for hydraulically interlinked dampers, the setup keeps the vehicle level and composed during hard launches, sharp direction changes, and aggressive cornering.
Stopping power comes from Brembo Carbon Ceramic brakes, with 440mm discs up front — the largest ever fitted to a production SUV. Each component was engineered to handle track-level punishment without compromising daily usability.
The design speaks the same language as the performance. A carbon fibre bonnet, quad tailpipes, and sculpted aerodynamic lines amplify the SV’s presence. Inside, SV Performance seats offer structure and support, while the Body and Soul audio system adds a sensory layer through haptic feedback synced to music.
Every detail was tuned for performance. And at Yas Marina, it all came together in one sharp, surgically precise lap.
