Love on the brain or baby brain? News has emerged that Rihanna has secretly given birth to her second child, welcoming a baby boy into the world in early August.
As per reports from TMZ, the award-winning musician and her rapper beau, A$AP Rocky, had a son (whose name also reportedly begins with the letter ‘R’) on August 3rd in Los Angeles.
For the astrologically inclined, this would make the newborn bundle of joy a Leo, rounding out his mother’s emotional Piscean nature and his father’s extravagant Libra qualities with a bout of stubbornness from his lion sun.
Aside from a few rare outings to Los Angeles ‘IYKYK’ hotspot Giorgio Baldi, Rihanna and Rocky have kept a relatively low profile in the lead-up to their baby’s birth.
In February this year, Rihanna once again shocked the world by revealing her surprising pregnancy. Rather than opting from the low-key Instagram post she shared to announce her first pregnancy, the 35-year-old ascended to new heights a top of the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show to share her news.
Dressed in a LOEWE jumpsuit and tonal breastplate, Alaïa coat and matching MM6 Maison Margiela x Solomon sneakers, Rihanna introduced her ‘surprise’ guest as none other than the baby she was carrying.
And despite the unnamed newborn being less than a month old, he is already worthy of his ‘nepo baby‘ title given he attended more star-studded Hollywood parties than most will ever in their life while he was still in utero.
Unfortunately for his older brother, RZA, RiRi and bump performed at this year’s Academy Awards, partied with Beyoncé at her Oscars after party, walked the famed steps of the Met Gala, graced Pharrell’s first campaign for Louis Vuitton’s menswear and even sat front row at his first runway show for the French luxuriate.
Though, that is not to say Rihanna and Rocky’s firstborn, a one-year-old born on May 13 2022 (Taurus), didn’t get his fair share of plus one’s while Rihanna was pregnant with him.
If you’ll recall his appearance with Rihanna at Dior’s Fall/Winter 2022 show—a collection presentation she collectively broke the internet at by wearing a sheer lingerie-esque dress—sparked a movement that rewrote the rules of maternity dressing.
“You put some clothes on, and it’s like, when you look good, you feel good,” Rihanna told reporters when asked about her unconventional approach to her maternity style. “I’ve heard that for a very long time, but it’s true. It really can get you up off that couch and make you feel like a bad b*tch.”
Our certified bad gal is officially a bad momma, twice over.
If RZA’s first year of life will hint at how they plan on assimilating their newborn into public life, it’s clear that we will have months to wait until his name or a picture of him will be revealed.
