Throwing it back to the thrifty age of the ’70s, along with pleated pants, wild-west style and tight fitting silhouettes, the birth of denim cut-offs were seen. We will admit they have gotten a bad wrap in the early 2000s thanks to mini styles and ill-fitting designs and while we thought they were all but dead and buried this side of 2018, it seems they are quietly making a comeback.

While denim shorts itself have continued to be a kit essential during the warmer seasons, the raw finishing and frayed hems of cut-offs are revived, with @Jun_tong showing us how its done. Strictly a casual look only, the lifestyle influencer has created a go-to uniform that can be appropriated again and again.

To go with the classic look, opt for mid-rise indigo denim, paired with essential basics already seen in your daily kit. And if the simple approach is not your style, add in trending pieces for a daytime look with elevation. A word of warning however: step away from the mini cut and you can thank us later.
