First launched in New York during 2009, the world’s largest sneaker convention has amassed to host more than one million attendees and vendors worldwide. Held in more than 40 cities across the globe, today the annual event announced its ascendence onto Australia’s Sydney, come late May.

Attracting sneaker heads across the country, the community will come together in buying, selling and trading for some of the most sought-after footwear. Yes, those limited-edition Yeezy’s *could be there. Along with the chance to nab rare models and new releases, Sneaker Con Sydney will also boast a heap of giveaways, and other activities such as the famous trading pit, panel discussions, digital platform showcases – and there’s more to come.

Do you know if you’re wearing authentic sneakers? Visitors can also take advantage of the on-site sneaker identification, appropriately named ‘LEGIT Check’ service. It will provide a free sneaker authentication service and give tips and ticks on how to identify real versus fake kicks. If you’re feeling creative, the anticipated event will also see a customisation zone, where designers will create personalised sneakers for customers on the spot.

In the meantime, Sneaker Con also has an app and features a range of content including a marketplace and innovative authentication methods while providing the vast community with a platform to engage at anytime.

Sneaker Con will take place on May 25 at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Sydney. Are you a fellow sneaker head? For more information and to grab tickets, check out the website here.
