What started off as a little known fashion week event, Copenhagen has grown it entity to become one of the most anticipated locations to visit on the style calendar. Bringing in locals and worldly visitors, Denmark’s capital becomes a bustling epicentre each season and in the event of Fall/Winter 2019, the city’s street style did not disappoint.

Like much of the Northern Hemisphere, the city braved bleak arctic temperatures this week, but that didn’t stop Scandi style from heating up. While the likes of Holzweiler and Hoffman introduced new-threads to the runway, it was influencers, editors and tastemakers outside, that made a statement. From splashes of colour to extravagant outerwear, these are the street style trends currently dominating Copenhagen Fashion Week.

Metallic hues

Believe it or not, but metallic hues and glittery sheens are slowly making a comeback. Daytime looks consist of matte finishes and classic cuts, while red carpet styles are taking a more wearable approach.

What better way to get warm than to be on trend? Entering in puffer jackets and oversized outerwear, if you are looking to make a statement this season, go big or go home.

With neon colour making its way into an acceptable way of styling, bursts of strong colour is an easy way to elevate a look. Not for the lighthearted, start small with bold accessories before moving on to full pieces.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, all-white looks are a common occurrence on the streets of Copenhagen. Not normally associated with winter attire, it is a sure way to brighten up your day. Just avoid spillages at all costs.

In the event of the cold weather, layering is not only a style move, but essential. To be practiced with caution, opt for complementing colours and lighter layers before building up to thick outerwear – as to avoid looking “clunky”.
