Basketball-inspired fashion is getting a minimalist makeover thanks to Fear of God’s latest collab. Jerry Lorenzo’s brand has secured a multi-year partnership with the NBA and WNBA.
“The game of basketball has always served as a well of inspiration for Fear of God,” says Lorenzo. “Sport shapes and informs the emotion, point of view, and the very fabric of what we do and who we are as a brand.” The collection seems like the natural next step for a designer who has built an aesthetic on the codes of American sports culture.
Lorenzo’s personal ties to the game run deep. With a son and twin daughters playing competitive youth basketball, he understands that the sport is more than just what happens on the court—it’s a way of life. That philosophy is woven into the Fear of God ESSENTIALS for NBA collection, a line that elevates fan merch into something timeless, well thought out as well as effortless.

The first wave of the collection puts a Fear of God spin on some of the NBA and WNBA’s most iconic franchises, including the Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Chicago Sky, Los Angeles Sparks, and New York Liberty. Expect refined silhouettes, a neutral colour palette, and a distinct absence of the over-the-top branding that sports merch is often known for.
The collection debuted at ComplexCon in Las Vegas at the end of 2024, offering fans a first look before launching on Fearofgod.com, NBAStore.com, and Fanatics. It’s also set to hit ESSENTIALS retailers, select arena stores, and NBA shops worldwide—including in the UAE, where pieces will be available at the NBA Store in Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi, and NBAStoreME.com.
