Taking to the French city, Hollywood's brightest suit up for a spectacular display of sartorial goodness

While the Met Gala brings out the most frivolous and outrageous fashion on the sartorial calendar, it is the shortly followed Cannes Film Festival in France that ushers in a new level of tailored elegance. One of the last annual red carpet events before Fashion Week kicks off once again, along with star-class cinema, no expense was spared on dazzling style.
Dexter Fletcher’s Rocketman and Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood were amongst the most anticipated events on this year’s schedule and in turn attracted iconic talent.
A stark contrast to awards season – a period where experimental looks come out to play – the Cannes red carpet welcomes a strict dress code. Required to wear full gala looks, sharp tuxedos and clean-cut suits took precedence among male attendees. Both Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio arrived to the event in matching tux’s, while Rocketman duo Elton John and Taron Egerton mixed it up with velvet and subtle embellishments. Elsewhere, white was also a popular choice and created a welcomed contrast against a sea of black.
