Timothée Chalamet, fresh off his roles in Wonka and Dune, has been spotted on the streets of New York City looking every bit the part of a young Bob Dylan for the upcoming film A Complete Unknown. Directed by James Mangold, this movie has been in the pipeline for years, and now we finally get a glimpse of Chalamet in action.

Decked out in a look that screams early 60s folk era Dylan—corduroy jacket, mustard scarf, and a biker cap—Chalamet seems to have nailed the legendary musician’s style. Although, as one clever punter called it, this looked could just have easily been plucked off one of the early 00s It Girls of London.

It’s not just about the clothes; the actor has been diving deep, picking up the guitar and fine-tuning his vocals to match Dylan’s iconic sound.

To be fair, there’s hasn’t been too much wardrobe wizardry required to make the 28-year-old actor look the part. Chalamet’s physical resemblance to Dylan was already there (although perhaps not as close as Dominic Sessa who would have absolutely smashed this role but that’s neither here nor there).  Both share a slight build and an gawkishness that’s hard to ignore.

A Complete Unknown focuses on Dylan’s ascent in the 1960s New York folk scene, a critical period in his career. With Chalamet at the helm, the movie aims to capture the essence of Dylan’s early days, from his humble beginnings to becoming a music sensation.

The film’s production is now in full swing, and with a supporting cast that includes names like Elle Fanning and Edward Norton, A Complete Unknown is shaping up to be a must-watch for Dylan fans and moviegoers alike. As we wait for more updates, one thing is clear: Chalamet’s transformation into Bob Dylan is on track to be as memorable as his previous hits.
