TOD’S has just unveiled the TOD’S· X Capsule Collection, an exclusive lineup crafted in partnership with its Global Brand Ambassador, Chinese megastar Xiao Zhan. This marks the second time Xiao Zhan and TOD’S creative director, Matteo Tamburini, have joined forces since the actor officially entered the TOD’S family in 2021.
Xiao Zhan is best known for his roles in popular dramas such as The Untamed (2019), where he played the charismatic Wei Wuxian, and The Wolf (2020), which cemented his status as a top actor in China. Starting as a member of the boy band X NINE, he gained significant recognition for his vocal and performance skills before transitioning to a highly successful solo career in acting and music.
“The creativity and ideas came in naturally,” Matteo Tamburini shared about the collection: every piece was designed with meticulous care and dedication, “capturing the essence of Tod’s whilst introducing elements inspired by Xiao Zhan’s unique interpretation of modern simplicity and his understated fashion taste”.
The collection’s centrepiece, the Di Bag Swing, reinterprets classic Italian craftsmanship with a modern spin, boasting signature saddle-stitching and an eye-catching reverse handle for added flair. Another highlight is the TOD’S· X Phone Bag in its micro size, featuring the T Barretta metal buckle – a favourite of Xiao’s, now updated with fresh, sleek detailing. Meanwhile, the T Vintage sneakers appear in curated colour combos of brown/white and grey/white, making these everyday staples stand out with refined, natural hues.
Xiao Zhan’s philosophy shines through this collection. As he puts it, fashion is about merging different styles and lifestyles and letting the beauty of those intersections shine through.
