As the trend of nostalgia sticks around for another season, brands are digging even deeper into the archives for a modern revival of the classics. First it was the ’80s dad sneaker, then the ’70s flare and now thanks to Gucci, the 1920’s has been given the spotlight with the new-age interpretation of the scarf print.

Once upon a time, the baroque-style print was exclusive to women but now the old-school pattern has found its way to be emblazoned onto street style threads.

“Gucci reinvents the use of classic scarf prints from years gone by pushing the edges with oversized street style,” says ICON Fashion Director, Kim Payne.

Serving as a homage to vintage style, it’s easy to pull off the look with a few simple tips. To avoid looking daggy and ironic, keep your look cohesive with street style cues – oversized silhouettes, relaxed layering and sneakers. Tie in colours from scarf prints into the rest of the pieces as seen below and with just the right amount of swagger you’ll be donning the trend effortlessly.
