In a three-way collaboration, American retailers Villa and DTLR have teamed up with sportswear company New Balance for a new rendition of the 990v3. Taking inspiration from the Major League Baseball, this style is made for baseball fans and sneaker heads alike.
The design started at Washington baseball stadium, Nationals Park where the all-stars game was held this year – entitled the “Navy Yard”, the 990v3 takes the name from the area of the stadium. Inspired by by the shoe creation process as well as its aesthetic details, the new sneakers are created in a combination of suede, mesh and leather in accents of red, orange, navy and beige. The design is finished off with red and white, cord laces as well as “HOME” embroidered on the back heel.
Taking cues from the ‘Dad sneaker’, the limited-edition collaboration is set to drop on July 14, available from Villa.
