The adidas Originals NMD is among one of its most famous silhouettes, and after the brand brought out the primeknit “Racer” over the past year, its popular runner is getting another revisit. Just in time for the holiday season, the German sporting house has utilised Gore-Tex for a technical iteration.

Water repellent yet breathable, Gore-Tex fabric was first invented in 1969 and with the rise of technical clothing invading the streets, it’s become recognised throughout the industry.

Like its predecessors before, the new NMD Racer features the classic UltraBoost Sole, suede heel and sock-like upper – the real design hero. Along with red accents found on the heel, the technical primeknit upper is emblazoned in Gore-Tex branding and finished off with the three stripes, positioned in a translucent colourway.

A specific date has not been confirmed, however the new adidas Originals NMD GTX “White” will drop in-stores and online during December. The use of Gore-Tex material has also been used on the original NMD and TS1 silhouettes which dropped earlier this year.
