Blending the world of soccer and skating, the internal design team at Adidas Skateboarding, ‘Brooklyn Creators Farm’, has joined forces with legendary skater Mark Gonzales to produce the Skate Copa 2018 collection.

The line consists of eight jerseys in collaboration with pro skateboarders, Blondey McCoy, Na-Kel Smith, Tyshawn Jones, Marc Johnson, Miles Silvas, Daewon Song, and Rodrigo Teixeira and represents each rider’s personal style. With combinations of colour, patterns and illustrations, each jersey is constructed with the German firms high-tech fabric, and features a special “Gonz” team badge and Trefoil logo on the chest, as well as the iconic three-stripes piping on the sleeves, and each rider’s name and number printed on the back.

The main message behind the campaign, “Negative Energy, Positive People”, is a joint effort between the pro riders. Mark Gonzales’s described the process – “the theme that seemed to coincide with everybody was that they hated a negative vibe. I played with various phrases and one that stood out for us was ‘Negative Energy, Positive People’, so I thought to do a design and put it on each of the jerseys.”
