Once known as a high-street sportswear brand with contenders like Nike and Adidas, FILA has made its debut into the high-fashion scene. Thanks to luxury collaborations and a wave of sportswear trends flooding social media, the Italian brand has made its debut at Milan Fashion Week, disrupting what the annual event is known for.

Following a historic exhibit at Triennale Museum, looking into the brands heritage, FILA showcased a range of both men’s and women’s looks all sporting heavy branding. Revisiting FILA’s extensive archives, Creative Directors Antonino Ingrasciotta and Joseph Graesel looked back to classic silhouettes while producing a contemporary runway.

Retro silhouettes in the form of baggy track pants, oversized t-shirts and boxy polo shirts are seen in the classic FILA colour way with accents of neon found throughout for on-trend vibes. While the collection primarily features sportswear looks, FILA looks to sartorial styling for an added edge, seen on relaxed blazers, button-up shirts and long-line trenches. The insta-famous FILA Disruptor was no where to be seen, alternatively branded pool slides and clean tennis sneakers finished off each look.

Further celebrating the brand’s heritage, FILA commissioned Italian models including Isabeli Fontana, Maartje Verhoef, Joan Smalls and Daphne Groeneveld to walk the runway.
