In 2018 Jacob Elordi was shot to fame and heartthrob status for his role as Noah Flynn in the Netflix film The Kissing Booth. But it wasn’t the ‘I’ve made it’ moment the actor was hoping for and instead he wanted to quit acting. In an interview with GQElordi has revealed the pressures of life in the spotlight and why he approached Ben Affleck for advice.

He told the publication that quitting acting “might sound quite sensitive and dramatic, but I am sensitive and I’m very dramatic. I hated being a character to the public. I felt so far from myself.”

“It felt like, all of a sudden, I was a poster,” he said referring to the unwanted attention from paparazzi. “Like I was a billboard. It felt like it was for sale. Then my brain went through the f–king wringer. Like, I wasn’t sure if I was genuine. It really skews your view…. It creates a very paranoid way of living.”

The Australian actor starred alongside Ben Affleck in the 2022 film Deep Water. During production, rumours circulated the internet that Elordi had been calling the paparazzi himself. He approached Affleck with advice on how to deal with the media however it wasn’t quite the magic fix Elordi wanted.

Instead, Affleck said there would be some “bleak” moments where you feel like a phoney because maybe you did want them to take a photo of you. Harsh.

Elordi has also appeared in the HBO Max drama Euphoria and is slated to star in the upcoming films Saltburn and Parallel. The 25-year-old has garnered plenty of fans within the industry as well, with footage from a Met Gala afterparty depicting the one and only Leonardo DiCaprio fanning over the young actor.

He was also previously romantically linked to Kaia Gerber but they split in late 2021.
