Luxury maison Dior has continued their burgeoning partnership with football by announcing Saint-Germain’s star striker Kylian Mbappé as their latest brand ambassador.

The 22-year-old will not only lend his image to menswear creations by artistic director Kim Jones, but will also be joining Johnny Depp as the face of their pillar fragrance Sauvage.
How many soccer stars can boast that kind of clout?
This announcement comes after Dior was named as the official uniform of the Paris Saint-Germain team – officially making them the best dressed footballers in the league in the process. Obviously.

The reason behind Dior partnering with Mbappé is, according to a statement from the maison, values of exacting standards and generosity.
Those standards have seen the young Parisian quickly rise the ranks of the football world. In 2018, when he was announced as part of the line-up of the French national team, he was also named Best Young Player by FIFA.
More recently, his skill was seen on the field in November this year when he scored the first quartet of goals since 1958, during a match that saw France qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
Mbappé has used the global platform brought to him through football to become involved in numerous causes and charity initiatives.
One being the “Premiers de cordée” association, a group that provides sporting initiatives for hospitalised children.

In early 2020, he also launched his own personal initiative whose main mission is to inspire children to reach their own goals. Called ‘Inspired By KM”, it provides support to “49 boys and 49 girls, aged 9 to 16, from all social backgrounds” who will then pass on what they’ve learnt from their time with Inspired By KM.
We’re not really ones for puns (yes we are) but Mbappé is clearly kicking some serious life goals.
