The silly season is in full swing. It’s a strange prospect considering I’m still processing July but nevertheless we can all agree that we’re ready for a break. With the downtime however, arrives a slew of mid-week Christmas parties, perhaps too much consumption of alcohol, and a deadly hangover you’re forced to work through. Then come the hangovers during Annual Leave, where being forced to speak to Aunt Margaret just seems too much.

We get, we’re with you. But could there be a way to ditch the sugar and the cheap booze for something all naturale? Enter in Belvedere.

Last month, the prestigious vodka company announced its plans for a more green future. The distillery is set to reduce CO2 emissions by 80 percent by 2022 and achieve 100 percent renewable energy by 2025. All new product innovations from 2021 will be certified organic products and the distillery has begun rigorously working on the transition to organic farming, with the goal of ceasing the use of pesticides within the next 10 years. And, the company is actively auditing supply chain vendors to abide by a 100 percent green code of conduct, with the goal of reducing plastic by 50 percent by 2025.

Plus the simple fact that Belvedere is made purely with Polska rye and purified water, you know it is the good stuff. But alas, you’re here for the cocktails and hear me out; the super carrot cocktail, the super kale cocktail and the super kombucha cocktail. Trust us, don’t knock it till you try it.

super carrot cocktail

Belvedere Vodka 45 mL
Fresh Carrot Juice 150 mL
Fresh Lemon Juice 20 mL
Miso or Dashi Powder ½ Bar Spoon
Ginger or Ginger Syrup ½ Bar Spoon
Chili Flakes 1 Dash
Honey Syrup 7mL
Garnish Carrot Stem / Chilli Flakes

Shake all ingredients with two ice cubes. Strain into highball glass over fresh ice. Garnish with carrot stem / chilli flakes.

super kombucha cocktail

Belvedere Vodka 40mL
Honey 15 g
Fresh Lime Juice 20 mL
Kombucha 60 mL
Angostura Bitters 1 Dash
Garnish Lime Wheel

Place all ingredients in shaker except Kombucha and shake with ice. Strain into a Coupe and top of with ice cold Kombucha. Garnish with a lime wheel.

super kale cocktail

Belvedere Vodka 60 mL
Curly Kale 15 g
Fresh Lemon Juice15 mL
Ginger 15 g
Cucumber 280 g
Granny Smith Apples 55 g
Celery Stalks 55 g
Garnish (optional) Dry kale

Place all ingredients into a juice maker and mix. Then place into shaker and shake. Fine strain into rocks glass.Garnish with dry kale.
