While the international fashion week circuit provides a glimpse of new season style courtesy of the world’s great designers, the twice-yearly format has evolved to provide a global platform to boast new collaborations. As Paris Fashion Week Men’s opened yesterday, Virgil Abloh’s Off-White was amongst the first to present Spring/Summer 2020.

Entitled, “PLASTIC”, the fresh line was shown at the Carreau du Temple where the space was planted with thousands of white carnations. Initiating dialogue around sustainability, Abloh presented the collection “in conversation” with artist Lenny McGurr, also known as Futura. Sporty silhouettes, unique graphics and signature branding provided the cornerstone for an extensive SS/20 collection, but it was the collaborative sneakers that have sparked headlines. Joining Abloh and Futura, Nike hopped on board to unveil another sneaker collaboration.

Teased just hours before the collection was to be sent down the runway, Abloh took to Instagram with detailed shots of his latest partnership – this time, decking out the classic SB Dunk Low.

Offered up in a “UNC” light blue or bold orange colourway, the collaborative sneakers boast many signature cues of previous partnerships – orange accents and branded text – but with an artistic twist. Double laces and graffiti artwork is featured across the sneakers while the special touch comes from translucent soles depicting Abloh and Futura’s written signatures.

Stay tuned for details regarding release.
