Song For the Mute, founded by Melvin Tanaya and Lyna Ty in 2010, emerged from Sydney, Australia with a mission to provide a voice for the voiceless, filling a gap for artisanal, directional clothing in the Australian fashion landscape. Fast-forward to today, and their distinct narrative continues to evolve, culminating in their latest collaboration with adidas Originals. The collection, titled ‘SFTM-004,’ marks their fourth joint venture, blending historical and contemporary aesthetics in a way that feels both rebellious and romantic.

Inspired by the Renaissance and Victorian eras, ‘SFTM-004’ fuses these influences with the edge of a modern-day court jester. The pieces feel like wearable art—bold, yet balanced with a kind of poetic chaos. This latest collection is set against the hauntingly beautiful backdrop of Crowland Manor in Lincolnshire, UK, where the visuals, crafted by Creative Director Stephen Mann and photographer Dan Boulton, tell a story of youth culture, nostalgia, and subversive elegance.

There’s a sense of curated disorder, with Boulton’s process of scanning and scrapbooking his work lending a raw, intimate texture to the campaign. The result? A collection that feels like a sartorial rebellion, with historical romance seeping into every seam. It’s premium, thoughtfully designed, and undeniably bold.
