Happy Earth Day to all. First celebrated in 1970, the annual event aims to provide education and a catalyst for worldwide activism surrounding climate change. Since the birth of social media, the Earth Day Network has grown and with celebrities and online personalities doing their part, brands are also backing the initiative. Coinciding with April 22, artist and cartoonist Steven Harrington has joined Nike for a collaborative capsule.

Known for his vibrant and playful artworks which feature signature dog and palm tree characters, the designs have made its way from the canvas to a series of Nike silhouettes. Taking to the Air Force 1, Cortez and Blazer models, Steven Harrington has emblazoned his pop artwork onto white renditions, incorporating the earth motif throughout. Ensuring an environmentally friendly product, the Steven Harrington x Nike Flyleather collection is also made with at least 50% recycled leather fibre.

Harrington says, “I think Earth Day Every Day, to me is really just a friendly reminder. It’s a reminder that every little bit counts.”

The collaboration is slated to launch today, and will be available via the Nike SNKRS app, retailing from $80 USD.
