In a turn of events, Trump is faced with potentially losing his long time personal lawyer, Michael Cohen.

In recent days, Cohen has been the focus of a federal investigation looking into fraud and other stands of inquiry. He had is house office and hotel room raided with files seized and is looking at charges on bank fraud, campaign-finance crimes, and money laundering.

And in a time where the lawyer is under a large amount duress, it is believed that Cohen may flip. This of course has reignited the Avenatti case against Trump and Cohen, who are speculated to have paid off an adult actress to keep quiet over an affair.

So what is Trump to do with no lawyer and an impending law suit? Since he seems to be short of lawyers who are on his side, he has had to call on old friends. One of these being, 85-year-old lawyer Jay Goldberg, who represented Trump in divorce and real estate matters back in the early 2000s. This proved to be a mistake however when Goldberg immediately turned to the Wall Street Journal about what they discussed.

The Wall Street Journal had this to say:

One of President Donald Trump’s longtime legal advisers said he warned the president in a phone call Friday that Michael Cohen, Mr. Trump’s personal lawyer and close friend, would turn against the president and cooperate with federal prosecutors if faced with criminal charges.

Mr. Goldberg said he cautioned the president not to trust Mr. Cohen. On a scale of 100 to 1, where 100 is fully protecting the president, Mr. Cohen “isn’t even a 1,” he said he told Mr. Trump…. In the call, Mr. Goldberg said he told the president Mr. Cohen could even agree to wear a wire and try to record conversations with Mr. Trump. “You have to be alert,” Mr. Goldberg said he told the president. “I don’t care what Michael says.”

More will be sure to come.
