Virgil Abloh‘s fascination with the Wizard of Oz continues.

Several months on from the designers debut as Louis Vuitton men’s Artistic Director for Spring/Summer 2019, Abloh is gearing up for another fashion month. As he is working on preparations for the next big event, the creative has taken to social media to share awe-inspiring murals thats have been adorned across the city of New York and Harajuku.

Inspired by the Spring/Summer 2019 collection that saw many of its silhouettes draw cues from the Wizard of Oz, New York has seen a psychedelic mural stretched across a 12-storey building. Said to only be completely seen from a specific spot, the creative has placed an “X” across the road where passerby’s can stand to view the masterpiece.

In Beijing, China a similar mural has been installed, seen rotating on a large screen, while in Harajuku, Tokyo, its train station has been overtaken by a larger-than-life sculpture, spanned across two storeys.

The artworks coincide with a New York pop-up that will see Louis Vuitton SS/19 threads available for a limited time. It is almost enough for us to book a round-the-world ticket to view the works. Stay tuned for what else Virgil Abloh has in-store.
